STORY
In 2023, our founder Preethi Kumar embarked on a new chapter in her life, moving to New York to begin married life. With three decades deeply rooted in India, she found herself yearning for the familiar flavors of Indian street food, particularly the irresistible allure of chaat. Inspired by her longing, Preethi delved into her kitchen, experimenting with various chaat recipes and joyfully hosting gatherings for friends and family. It was during these moments of sharing delicious bites that the idea for Wanna Chaat was born. Driven by her passion for feeding others and sharing the essence of Indian culinary tradition, Preethi decided to bring the authentic taste of chaat to New Yorkers, creating a vibrant tribute to the flavors that had always brought her comfort and happiness.
